The average woman in the United States is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 166 pounds. The eating disorder help group, Bulimia, redesigned our favorite game heroines using Photoshop to make them match this average, since the typical female character is depicted as a super athletic and buxom girl.
While this may be a well-intentioned message to spread awareness of unrealistic body imagery of woman and girls in the media, I do feel that you would not normally want to fight a male bodybuilder character with what appears to be a female couch potato. Since over 35% of Americans are considered obese, this is not the correct way to go about it. In the same manner we do not require Olympic athletes to have an average appearance, we wouldn't realistically expect girls who fight monsters, hike miles for treasures or fight hand-to-hand combat to have an average TV-watching sedentary figure.
