Thousands congregated for the annual Oak Lawn Halloween street party to dress up, socialize and support the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community. A fenced-off catwalk stretched down the center of the street, so that patrons could model their elaborately designed costumes. Food and beverage booths lined the sides of the street to ensure everyone had fun and many of the bars hosted costume contests. An outdoor DJ provided some big-beat dance music in the center of the festival. You can tell the number of attendees has grown exponentially over the years just by trying to walk through the congested crowds. Parking was also very difficult, so it was definitely worth it to travel by taxi.
