This year Comicpalooza extended their weekend to four days to encompass Memorial Day. It was still held at the massive George R. Brown convention center, but took up all five exhibit halls and upstairs floors. There were tons of vendors, artists, gaming tournaments, cosplay contests, concerts and wrestling matches. The great thing this year were the eight or so food vendors from grilled food to pizza and Chick-fil-A to keep everyone hunger-free and going strong.
Celebrity guests included Jason Mewes, Stan Lee, Sylvester McCoy, Lou Ferrigno, Tricia Helfer, Cary Elwes, Billy Dee Williams, Jim Cummings, Rose McGowan, Peter Davidson, Clark Gregg, Elizabeth Henstridge, Brett Dalton, Austin St. John, David Yost and wrestlers Bret Hart and Kevin Nash. There were also cosplay guests Ivy Doomkitty, Mariedoll, Nicole Marie Jean, Ani-Mia, Rosanna Rocha, Spencer Doe and Lana Marie.
Comicpalooza fortunately kept the great activities from last year including laser tag, wrestling, LARP fighting, body painting, roller derby, paintball, video games, board games, card games, concerts and a maker's fair with loads of 3D printers. It was definitely worth coming back to Houston this year and we can't wait for next year! Keep up the great work Comicpalooza!
